About Me

David Hulston is a seasoned Angel Investor, experienced Non-Executive Director, mentor and technology strategy consultant. His angel investments are in early-stage technology companies, mostly business-to-business software (B2B), but stretch to film production (“Panic Button) and games ("Vectrex Regeneration").

As an accountant by background and an intellectual property industry veteran, he is comfortable with numbers and technology. David brings more than 25 years international business experience to early stage companies where he is a Non-Executive Director. Companies where David is an NED and investor include Comparison Creator, Inngot, Rant Media Games and SubHub.

He completed a Bachelor of Business degree in Australia and subsequently worked as an accountant. He has carried out finance and management roles in the U.K., South East Asia, USA and South Korea.

David was a founder-director in 1998 of a £3.3 million Management Buy-out from EMI plc. In 2000 this business was floated on the London Stock Exchange with a market capitalization of £330 million. He founded and developed QED Intellectual Property, an intellectual property licensing and management service business with offices in the UK, Japan and the USA.

David is a supporter of the angel communities in Wales and Australia, dividing my time between both locations. He is a judge for the Welsh round of The Pitch and a featured angel on the British Business Angels Association "Be an Angel" site. David is also a visiting Mentor and Business Coach at University of Queensland's iLab Technology Accelerator and Business Incubator.

Mentoring

"We have benefited greatly from David's experience, counsel and contacts on a wide range of issues. His past experience in the IP space is particularly useful to Inngot, but even without that, he is just the sort of investor and non-executive director a high growth business needs. He sees potential, makes connections, and keeps us focused on the things that matter."Martin Brassell, CEO, Inngot Ltd
