AAAI 2011AAAI Conference 2011
The Australian Association of Angel Investors National Conference 2011 was held in Newcastle, New South Wales, in February 2011. The theme was, "Angels without Borders" reflecting the national and international trend to foster the break down of barriers at every level (knowledge, skills, industry, sector, group, distance, jurisdiction, etc.) and promote syndication, co-investment and collaboration to support the growth of the companies in which Angels invest.
Experienced Angels and entrepreneurs from the USA, UK, India, Singapore, Chile, New Zealand and around Australia.
They described effective governance and mentoring strategies. Sessions focussed on international Angel investment best practices covering key issues including consideration of a possible investment through to managing risk, relationships and strategies to enable successful exits from investments.
I spoke on 3 panels. Here are notes on the two talks I gave. You can find out more by clicking on the link: www.aaai.net.au

Mentoring"We have benefited greatly from David's experience, counsel and contacts on a wide range of issues. His past experience in the IP space is particularly useful to Inngot, but even without that, he is just the sort of investor and non-executive director a high growth business needs. He sees potential, makes connections, and keeps us focused on the things that matter."Martin Brassell, CEO, Inngot Ltd |
